In 1992 an enterprising group of top chemists, surveyors and inspection managers founded what is now known as ‘Cargo Inspections Group’ (CIG) – a globally respected business that has worked with the biggest names in oil and petroleum.
Our core principles have always stayed the same, with petroleum expertise and good client relationships remaining at the heart of what we do. Nevertheless, the past few decades have seen us expand into new areas of inspection and trade – including agriculture, minerals and metals and general commodities.
Meanwhile, our international growth has been encouraged not only by the enthusiasm and energy of our core team, but also that of our clients. In fact, Cargo Inspections Group is the only specialist regional inspection company that has managed to successfully compete with the major inspection companies across the Baltic, Black Sea and Mediterranean regions.

Why choose us?x
Experienced and fully accredited: With more than 30 years of experience behind us, Cargo Inspections Group has a wealth of expertise in all aspects of cargo inspection, testing, analysis, calibration and loss minimisation. Equally, our IFIA-accredited inspectors receive extensive in-house training and are supported by a strong team of managers, surveyors, marine officers, chemicals engineers and analytical chemists.
Helping you stay informed: All of our clients receive our daily port updates – often nicknamed ‘the voice’ – via email to ensure they can keep abreast of new information that could affect their cargo.
Competitive deals and prices: In return for exclusive contracts or commitment to volumes of work, we are happy to negotiate discounted rates. We can also offer escalating discounts for those companies that have work too variable to forecast.
Rigorous, up-to-the-minute tracking: Co-ordinated operations means your ship and her cargo are tracked minute by minute from before loading to after discharge.
